KELLY GROVES (Blair) Uptown Players appearances include Marty/Nurse Sample in Del Shores' A Very Sordid Wedding and Tick in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Kelly has also been seen locally as Robin & Lady Capulet in Shakespeare in Love (Shakespeare Dallas) and over 30 regional credits including Darius in Jeffrey (Hangar Theatre), Hanschen in Spring Awakening (EgoPo Philadelphia), Mavor in Gross Indecency and Louis in Angels in America (Huntington Theatre). Kelly spent many years performing as the emcee in Illusions in Provincetown alongside some of the country's biggest drag acts. When not on stage, Kelly is the award-winning director of theatre at Arlington-Martin High School and is a principal subject in the upcoming feature documentary film One Act about the competitive One Act Play contest in Texas. He holds a BFA in Acting from Boston University and an MA in Theatre Education from Emerson College.
