Carrie Ruth Trumbo
Choreographer
Carrie Ruth Trumbo is thrilled to be working with UPTOWN PLAYERS for the first time on Fire and Air. Trumbo is a Dallas-based contemporary choreographer with a focus on multi-disciplinary work. She premiered her first evening-length ballet, Amor Fati: An Evening of Greek Mythology, in June of 2023 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater, which was the first ballet to ever be presented at the historic Frank Llyod Wright theater. Also in the summer of 2023, she was commissioned to create a new work at the National Choreographers Initiative in Irvine, CA. Trumbo’s most recent work, All Rise, is an immersive ballet that utilizes the facility in which it is performed, enveloping the audience in the art. She has served as Resident Choreographer for Pegasus Contemporary Ballet, where she created six works, including collaborations with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Verdigris Ensemble. Trumbo danced professionally with Tulsa Ballet, American Contemporary Ballet, and OKC Ballet. Her repertoire includes works by Tharp, Balanchine, Hynd, Liang, and Cranko.
